Caraballo Midwifery was born out of a commitment to provide conscious, family-centered midwifery care through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. The practice is driven by the philosophy that pregnancy, birth, and early child-rearing are powerful, influential events that are best supported by empathetic human connections and attentive, respectful, and compassionate care. Caraballo Midwifery strives to be part of a movement to uplift and cultivate joy and resilience among individuals, families, and the communities they are part of, as well as to create safe spaces for anyone seeking the care of a midwife.
Natalia Caraballo is a certified midwife licensed to practice full scope midwifery in the state of New York. She currently offers care in the office and home settings, including the attendance of home births for low-risk pregnancies. Natalia enjoys a collaborative relationship with Dr. Katharine Morrison of Buffalo Women’s Services and the Birthing Center of Buffalo. Natalia accepts many different health insurance carriers including but not limited to Independent Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid, and payment plans are available for those with out-of-pocket fees.
Originally from New Jersey, Natalia Caraballo relocated to Buffalo in 2009 with the goal of pursuing studies in midwifery. At the time she had not predicted how she would set down long lasting roots here, where she has since served the community as a licensed practical nurse, doula, group prenatal care co-facilitator, birth assistant, and midwife. After earning an undergraduate degree in women’s health through Buffalo State College, Natalia completed a Master of Science in midwifery and became a Certified Midwife (CM) through Thomas Jefferson University.
Throughout this time, Natalia became a mother to two amazing children, both born at home into the hands of midwives – experiences that further inspired a reverence for birthing people and their babies, while deepening her commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care throughout the lifespan.
Natalia lives on the Lower West Side of Buffalo with her partner and their two children in their 150-year-old home that is in a perpetual state of repair. She is delighted by bearing witness to her children’s laughter and curiosity, being surrounded by trees while hiking, and discovering new plants and creatures with her wonderful partner, who for over a decade has brewed innumerable pots of coffee to help Natalia recover from long nights of studying, breastfeeding, and attending births.
